about me
The performing arts have been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. I first stepped onto a stage at age 5 and landed my first major film role as “Pepper” in Disney’s Annie at age 10. I studied vocal music and musical theater at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and Wagner College in NY. For most of my adult life, I’ve worked in the music industry as a professional pop recording artist & singer/songwriter. My original music can be heard today on all streaming platforms.
While I love performing and creating music, I am truly at home when I’m teaching. I’ve been teaching private voice lessons to artists of all ages for over ten years. I’m a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and work with artists across New Jersey and New York. I am CPD certified in vocal health first aid, and specialize in developing proper vocal technique, vocal hygiene, stamina, and most importantly, building CONFIDENCE.
What makes me different from other teachers or schools out there?
Having started in the industry at such a young age, I understand the demands and pressures that can be placed upon artists and the struggles that come with learning to love the sound of your own voice! I’ve struggled with performance anxiety, and I know just how hard it can be to shut off that judgemental voice within. My goal is to empower you, not break you down. You should always leave a voice lesson feeling better than when you arrived.
I have professional experience performing in varied musical genres, both on stage and in recording studios, which offers me insight into many aspects of vocal performance. It is very important to me that my students experiment with different styles of music and love the songs they’re singing. Whether it be learning to sing for the first time, college audition prep, singer/songwriters, or industry professionals, we will work together to achieve your goals.
Teaching Philosophy
To create a safe and inclusive space for artists to grow and thrive, while helping them to unlock their own beautiful sound. I believe that an embodied voice is a happy one. Through listening to our bodies and connecting to our voice, we can learn so much about our instrument and in turn, ourselves.
